Are we really more than halfway through February so soon?
We've been keeping busy here. In fact "here" is grandma and grandpa's house. We're simultaneously visiting all kinds of relatives and doing absolutely nothing. The do-it-all vacation where you are so exhausted by the end of the vacation isn't really our style. We prefer to take it easy and relish the change of pace.
Before our vacation began we enjoyed a 2nd and 3rd grade musical titled "Akito and the Dragon." R. was Akito with several "lines" and even had a few solo lines in a song. J. was part of the choir. We got to go to the Thursday evening performance and it was fun seeing R. ham it up on stage. He really is a character when surrounded by his friends. I was still sore and swollen from my wisdom teeth removal but did a fine job (and I DO say so myself) playing the role of proud mama taking lots of photos and video clips. I'll post a few shots soon, I hope. My jaw and teeth are almost back to normal nine days later, but I was surprised by how long it took me to bounce back from oral surgery!
No new news to post about the basement. We have a small list of "to finish" projects before we can say we're ready to hang, mud and tape drywall. I don't know why I'm surprised that the reality of this home improvement project is more complicated than the original plans.
C. wants me to stop blogging and pay attention to her as cradles Grammy's snowman princess doll and sings "now-nan, now-nan, toh, toh, toh."
